Janani ("the app") is a pregnancy wellness tracker built with privacy at its core. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
All health data you enter — glucose readings, medications, weight, blood pressure, symptoms, and pregnancy details — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.
Janani does not require an account, sign-in, or registration. There are no user accounts, no passwords, and no personal identifiers collected.
The app makes one type of network request:
If you grant permission, Janani can read and write glucose, weight, and blood pressure data to Apple Health. This sync happens entirely on your device through Apple's HealthKit framework. Janani never accesses your broader Apple Health history beyond the data types you authorize.
The camera and photo library are used solely to photograph glucose meters and medication labels for on-device text recognition (OCR). Photos are processed locally and are never uploaded to any server.
When you tap "Schedule this" on a prenatal milestone, the app writes a single event to a calendar you choose. No calendar data is read or transmitted.

Since all data is stored locally, deleting the app removes all your data. You can also delete individual entries within the app at any time.
The app is rated 12+ and is designed for expectant mothers. It is not directed at children under 13.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
